Jib Trimming: An Illustrated Guide
Please click on the link above to download the sail trim template chart in PDF format that's referred to in the book.
If you’ve ever tried, or thought about trying to take on the role of mainsail trimmer, you might also be interested in my second book:
Mainsail Trimming: An Illustrated Guide
Both books are available at all good chandlers and are also available on the many Amazon stores around the world, including in Kindle eBook format. Ordering online and having them home delivered is easy too.
I hope you find the books useful. They’ve been written to make sailing more accessible to enthusiastic sailors who are trying a new role on a boat, whether you’re new to sailing or just new to the role. A great deal of care has been taken to avoid potentially off-putting jargon and technical complexity so you can focus on what you need to do - and ultimately what makes the boat go faster.
Jib Trimming was initially published by specialist UK sailing publisher Fernhurst in 2005. Global publisher John Wiley & Sons subsequently bought Fernhurst and in 2007 Wiley published Mainsail Trimming. After a period of time as part of John Wiley, Fernhurst is now back as an independent company, run by a team of enthusiastic sailors, including the original founder.
